8th Kyu Testing Requirements
Ao Obi
Students are expected to know all 10th and 9th kyu testing requirements. Students should also know
the following additional 8th kyu requirements.
Blocks
- Augmented block
Kicks
- Front thrust kick
- Side thrust kick
Fighting Stances
- Jab
- Reverse punch
- Jab to reverse punch
- Reverse punch to jab
Kata
Self-Defense
Students are expected to perform the same escapes from grabs as the 1st blue requirements; however, they should include 2 to 3
counterattacks for each grab.
Sparring
- Five Step Sparring
